After Hanuman, Ghatothkotch’s turn

hanuman.jpg
I like watching animated movies that the US makes. They are funny, cute and have a very clear eye for details. Of course it must be because of the dedication the professionals working on it has and more importantly, the money they have is no amount short of huge. When India tries their hand in something like this, it changes. I have not understood why there occurs such a huge difference in the quality. We have a hell lot more talented, creative and articulate dudes than does the West, so why do we have cartoons that make viewing such displeasure?

Hrithik grows a moustache

hrithik_roshan.jpg
Hrithik Roshan looked really hot in Dhoom 2. Save his face of course. His body was such a treat on toast; there are times women had to suppress an urge to jump the cinema screen! Remember one particular avatar of his with a moustache? Well, that caught on to him and he is using that for his next movie; Jodha Akbar. Coincidentally, he will be seen with Aishwarya Rai in the movie. The idea is to make him look all majestic and regal because he will be the obvious dude playing Akbar and having a six pack was not particularly Akbar’s brownie point.

Arshad is going to go bad

arshad_warsi.jpg
Arshad Warsi has an identity. That of being Sanjay’s extremely loyal and funny sidekick. Would you imagine such a sweetheart turn into a villain? Well, yeah he is going to. For some South Indian movie remake which will be produced by Anil Kapoor. The movie will also have Akshaye Khanna and the emphasis is going to be on Arshad’s character being a “sleaze-ball”. Seems he can’t really imagine acting like a bad actor, because come on people, whom is he kidding! He is the funny man with the hilarious slant of Bollywood. He cannot act tough or bad even if he tried. But Arshad has got to try and he is gonna. In his words, he is going to put in all his acting skills for it.

Aftab, Celina and Amrita caught in a tub

amrita_arora.jpg
I don’t understand how she is still not being called gay. Atleast bi-sexual! Amrita Arora is definitely not straight. She does movies with women like it is her inborn forte. First it was that lesbian flick with Isha Koppikar and now it is this steaming tub sequence with Celina Jaitley and Aftab Shivdasani. The dude may have had issues trying to be calm! It is for the movie Red. The name seems apt because it contains all the flavours needed for one to yell out ice! Celina has like a shed-fest with a couple of hot songs (for which recently the chic needed tight security). The movie is by proclaimed filmmaker, Vikram Bhatt. And guess who’s giving the music. Yeah, you all win; Himmesh Reshammiya.

A long, long story to unveil

salaam_e_ishq.jpg
A few years back, LoC came out and it was a long stretch to escape. Only those who remained in the hall after the first hour and a half were couples that came to make out and troubled husbands who prefer Dolby sound blasts to nagging wives. Not because the public lacked patriotism. But because the makers of the movie killed that idea by stretching it up to 4 hours! A similar show is coming up. This time no blood shed, no true heroes and no depressed storylines. Instead it will be a rejoicing time for lovers and couples. Salaam-E-Ishq is full of three and a half and director, Nikhil Advani feels it is three and a half hours of complete fun and no one will walk out of the hall. We will know soon, Nikky!

Jesse, new item number in town

jesse_randhawa.jpg
Item numbers are now more in tune with fame and stardom than being an actress. As is the normal trend for beauty queens, even models have been joining the film industry over the years. Pretty faces, awesome bodies; more so on the latter. Connecting one and one, we have models getting into main stream cinema by catching up deals that would get them instant recognition, more than just 15 minutes. Jesse Randhawa is the latest pick. Director Anurag Kashyap chose her to do an item number, which required a specific attitude and style, which Jesse matched perfectly to. So No Smoking will have a fresh face and new grooves.

Afghanistan annoyed with Kabul Express

kabul_express.jpg

Afghanistan did not like Kabul Express’s idea of making one of their tribes look barbaric and the most dangerous one in the country. They were mighty disappointed and offended that someone would make a movie about the tribe’s (Hazara minority) bad habits and behaviour. It’s not everyday you find people like to hear gory truths about them and far less accept them. So these dudes felt really bad when extravagant neighbours like us portrayed a rude image of theirs. They were so angry that Afghan TV didn’t play anything Indian for 72 hours! The movie will be available in pirated copies though, so Afghani women can still drool over out John.

No Smoking means no smoking

no_smoking.jpg

There is this new movie with John Abraham being a smoking addict and planning to quit the habit to save his marriage. The movie is called No Smoking. The director is so hell-bent over this idea (not smoking) that he has placed a ban on anyone smoking on the sets. And if they do, they will have to pay a fine of Rs500 which will then be collected and given off to help cancer patients. So far, the set has collected up to Rs1.12 lakhs over two months and this is going to be donated to a cancer hospital. The director, Kumar Mangat, seems to be mighty serious about what he is doing and is showing he means business. Very professional.

Tanushree risking a lot

tanushree_dutta.jpg

Tanushree Dutta is all set for upcoming movie, Risk where she is going to be playing the love interest of an inspector (Randeep Hooda). The movie will also see the return of old timer, Vinod Khanna in a Don’s attire. Sad thing is (for whom, we can’t say), Tanushree has not got a single scene with Khanna saab and she’s a tad bit upset about it. But worrying, she isn’t because she has been dedicated on whole song sequence, totally devoted to her; titled ‘Hitchki’ (that is the perfect equation of item number cum female lead).
